What we are proud of

Did you know?

Whalesharks are estrimated to live around 100 years, reaching sexual maturity around 30 years

What we are proud of, and why

Ningaloo Whaleshark Swim is committed to making a real difference and positive contribution to our environment, our local community and local businesses, and the ongoing wellbeing of our local indigenous Australians.

We want to actively take leadership for making these things happen, and will continue to do what we can, every opportunity we get.

2016 Certificate of Excellence Trip Advisor

Our guests make what we want to do possible.  Trip Advisor, the world-leading travel review website, awarded Ningaloo Whaleshark Swim with a Certificate of Excellence for consistently delighting guests on tour.

Gold Medal – Best Adventure Tour in WA

One of our proudest moments for Matt Winter, Owner and Manager of NWS was jointly winning the Gold Medal for Best Adventure Tour in WA at the Western Australian Tourism Awards for Ningaloo Whaleshark Swim’s whaleshark tours.

Our Net Promoter Score (NPS)

We value our guests’ opinions above all else.

That is why we rely on the Net Promoter Score (NPS) as our key performance metric, a measure widely recognised and used by over half of Australia’s largest companies. Achieving a worldwide NPS of +50 (on a scale from -100 to +100) is considered world-class.

Proudly, our NPS score of 90* places us among the highest achievers in Australia (see below). This stands as a testament to our dedicated crew and support team’s unwavering commitment.

Our mission remains unwavering: to continuously enhance and exceed expectations!

*The Ningaloo Whale Shark Swim ‘How did we do’ survey is continuous. The score stated is from over 200 tour guests surveyed and collected via Survey Monkey (2022-23)

Giving back to our community

Actively supporting the local Exmouth community in which we operate will always be a priority for our organisation.  To date, our organisation in Exmouth has donated over $100,000 to not for profit and industry organisations, and done hundreds of hours of volunteer work.

We donate across a very diverse range of areas, including whale shark and environmental research, to local community, sporting and social organisations, the Cape Conservation Group, global environmental groups, and to our local tourism association.

Why?  Because its the right thing to do.  Simple.

Indigenous Support

  • actively support the important work being done by the North West Cape Exmouth Aboriginal Corporation to improve the social, economic and physical well-being of indigenous Australians in our region and beyond.

Our support to date includes becoming a member, serving on Boards and Committees, making annual donations for the NAIDOC Art Awards and for national and international travel to indigenous conferences, providing employment opportunities, pro bono work writing Plans, submissions etc, ongoing strategic advice and support etc.

ExmouthIndustry Service

Our CEO recently “retired” as Chair of the Exmouth Visitors Centre on a high, with the Centre winning Gold Medal for Best Visitor Centre in WA one week after he left.    He has also previously served as a Board Member for Relationships Australia.

csiro Scientific Research

We support research that protects our natural environment and guides good policy and decisions.  Through partnering with researchers, cash donations, providing our assets and crew as required, and our own research projects, we are committed to making a real difference.
